Competitions

CFA Institute Research Challenge

The CFA Institute Research Challenge is an annual global equity research competition that provides university students with hands-on mentoring and intensive training in financial analysis. Students gain real-world experience as they assume the role of a research analyst and are tested on their ability to value a stock, write an initiation-of-coverage report, and present their recommendations.

Deadline to apply is 4th October 2019. Please see here for more information.

CFA Society Toronto Ethics Challenge

The Canadian Ethics Challenge is designed to increase students’ awareness of the ethical dilemmas they may face as future investment management professionals. Student teams from finance or economics programs are given an ethics case to study and evaluate. Each team then presents its analysis and recommendations, to a panel of judges, selected by the host CFA Society at the Canadian Ethics Challenge local competition.  Following a question and answer period with each team, the judges then select a winner. Their decision is based on the quality of the team’s understanding of the ethical issues involved, their recommendations, and the quality of their analysis, presentation, and responses to the judges questions.

Deadline to apply is 4th October 2019. Please see here for more information.
